About the Library

The mission of the library is to build, maintain and provide quality resources and effective library services to support the curriculum of the Seminary meeting the learning, teaching and research goals. 

The Cheung Chau Wu Mo Tak Memorial Library, a three story building, was constructed in 1986. A new wing in the Jeffray Building was added to increase the shelving capacity and provide a more pleasant environment for users in 2008. The library holds more than 90,000 volumes of monographs and subscribes to over 150 English and Chinese journals. The Lui Ming Choi Library is a branch library located in the Wan Chai City Campus. It holds more than 11,000 volumes of monographs. In recent years, the library has developed an electronic collection of more than 20,000 e-books and 3,000 e-journals.

The library has upgraded its automation system to keep pace with the rapid development of information and communication technology. Now users can search both print and electronic resources in one online catalogue. The library has also upgraded ABS Chinese Journal Index system to facilitate full text access and downloading.

ABS Library is a member of EIN (Ecumenical Information Network).The Network was established in March 1995. It is a library consortium project among theological libraries in Hong Kong. Users can access to more than 495,000 records in the EIN Union Catalogue. It is the largest Chinese Theological Library Union Catalogue not only in Hong Kong, but also in the world.
