Called to full-time ministry during his university and career years, Dr. Jimmy Chan studied in Alliance Bible Seminary for preparation as a pastor. He has been ministered young and career adults for many years.  He was the recipient of the 2021 Congress Graduate Merit Award granted by The Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences and has presented papers at various international conferences. As a pastor-theologian, Dr. Chan is interested in exploring how patristics (or early Christianity), especially Augustinian theology, relate to contemporary biblical hermeneutics and theological applications. 

Research areas:
Theology of Emotions and Happiness, Theological Anthropology, Trinitarian theology, Ecclesiology, Biblical Theology, Historical Theology, Apologetics, and Chrisitan Ethics.
