Master of Christian Studies (2-year Program)

Program Objective

This program aims to provide Christians who intend to minister through their occupation with basic theological training, preparing them to be efficient lay leaders for the church in this rapidly changing world.

 

Program Design

  1. Students need to complete 24 courses (72 credits), and other graduation requirements.
  2. The program can be completed within 2 years full-time.
  3. Students can select to major in Bible Studies, Theological Studies, Christianity & Chinese Cultural Studies or Intercultural Studies, or opt not to take any major.

Ten electives of the student’s choice (with the exception of pastor-exclusive courses).  Note that some courses have prerequisites.

 

Elective Courses (15 credits)

Students may choose any courses provided in the Cheung Chau campus (with the exception of pastor-exclusive courses).  Note that some courses have prerequisites.

 

 

Other Graduation Requirements (8 credits)

  1. Participate in the graduate camp (3-day 2-night camp)
  2. Complete a reflection paper with 3,500 words in Chinese
  3. Serving in a church for a year
  4. Reading the Bible once (include both Old and New Testaments)

 

Admission Requirements

  1. Applicants must be born-again Christians, have been baptized and members of a local church for at least 2 years at the anticipated time of enrolment.
  2. Demonstrate acceptable levels of spiritual maturity, appropriate giftedness, and ministry involvement in the church.  A recommendation from the affiliated church is needed.
  3. Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  4. Applications need to attend the interview and sit for a written examination.
